AllOne Foundation recently presented a grant to Variety – The Children’s Charity to help purchase adaptive bikes, adaptive strollers, and communication devices for local families. On January 25th, several families received their own specialized strollers, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. One parent, Erisbel Martin, remarked how having this stroller will help her family immensely by providing a safe way to take her son outside of the house. She said “This is life changing…And I was very scared to go out, we limit ourselves to go out because of this, because my son is an escape artist, he is an eloper. I would like to say thanks to them.”
At the distribution event, staff from Variety explained that families are able to receive not just the adaptive strollers but bikes and communication devices as well. In addition, if the child outgrows any of the equipment, the family just needs to contact the staff at Variety and they will be able to receive new equipment – at no cost. AllOne Foundation is proud to partner with this program as it gives families in our area access to specialized devices that will keep their children safe and help them continue to learn and thrive.
