AllOne Foundation & Charities participated in the ribbon cutting of a brand-new inclusive playground at City View Park in Hazelton. AllOne was part of a public-private partnership that collaborated to fund this innovative playground, with the goal of promoting health and wellness in the Hazleton area. The playground was designed with materials and play equipment that are accessible to all children, including those with disabilities.
John Cosgrove remarked, “What we try and do is get folks to work together to measurably improve the health and wellness of our friends and neighbors in Northeastern and North Central Pennsylvania. When the mayor came to us with this really terrific idea, he didn’t come alone. He came with the DeAngelo Family, his own folks in (parks and recreation), and with Congressman Cartwright’s help. This is exactly the project we’d like to do — a collaborative, cohesive, all-inclusive project and this really is proof positive of what we strive to do every day.”
The inclusive playground offers many special features that have not been available in the Hazleton park before like an accessible zipline, communication and musical boards, and a mini rock-climbing wall.
