Fork Over Love, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to changing the narrative on food insecurity by elevating all who are struggling with a new system of care, was the recipient of a $25,000 capacity-building grant from AllOne Charities. Fork Over Love purchases nutritious, chef-made meals from small, independent restaurants and then distributes those meals throughout the community for FREE, which aligns with AllOne Charities’ focus on improving access to nutritional food for those most in need.

The capacity-building grant will empower Fork Over Love to strengthen operations to ensure long-term mission sustainability. Although Fork Over Love started as an emergency response to the pandemic, the need for a socially-innovative strategy like ours that leverages partnerships with non- and for-profit businesses well into the future is clear. We are so grateful for the funding provided by AllOne Charities because it will enable us to create the infrastructure to continue nourishing our community by feeding our neighbors like family.

Since its inception on January 8, 2021, FOL has held 86 free community dinners throughout Luzerne County, served 28,609 meals, and reinvested $286,090.00 in the restaurant community by engaging over 60 restaurants, more than 50 non- and for-profit host sites, and over 200 volunteers.
