AllOne Charities recently awarded a $10,000 grant to the Hazleton Area Recreation Program (H.A.R.P.) in support of new technology for their summer youth programming. The mission of H.A.R.P. is to enhance the future of the youth of the Greater Hazleton Area through providing exercise, character development, self-discipline, confidence, structure, work ethic, and friendship.
This grant funding helped develop the H.A.R.P. Summer Activity Center. This activity center consists of multiple I-pads, charging stations, and stands that create a learning environment that encourages literary and math skills while teaching healthy habits and ways to create a healthier lifestyle. The new learning center served 25 students for multiple weeks during the summer and is available during the school year to between 50-100 Greater Hazleton youth on a weekly basis.
