AllOne Charities awarded $25,000 to Family Promise of Carbon County to support the expansion of its shelter for families experiencing homelessness. With 141 families currently on its waitlist, Family Promise is working to increase its capacity to provide more families with a safe, stable place to stay while they navigate challenging circumstances and work toward greater stability.
The funding from AllOne Charities will help furnish six new bedrooms and a communal kitchen in a building adjacent to Family Promise’s existing shelter. The grant will support the purchase of essential furnishings and appliances, including bunk beds and kitchen equipment. Once completed, the expansion will increase Family Promise’s shelter capacity from eight families to 14 families, allowing the organization to offer immediate refuge and support to more households in need.
For families facing hardships such as job loss, medical emergencies, domestic violence, and other circumstances that can lead to homelessness, a safe place to stay can be an important first step toward rebuilding. Through expanded shelter space and access to supportive programs and resources, Family Promise of Carbon County will be able to help more families pursue stability and self-sufficiency.
