HOPE CURES 5K took place on Sunday, June 4th. It could not have been a better weather day to run 3.1 miles – no excuses!
The 5K benefits groundbreaking research being conducted by “rising stars” at the Penn State Cancer Institute in Hershey.
An update from one of the doctors the race has supported over the years is Dr. Zheng. Her work recently received the coveted American Cancer Society Research Scholar Grant for therapy for Leukemia patients. The race provided her lab the seed $ to start her research which has now shown so much potential that it is being introduced into clinical trials with patients!!!
Over the years, Hope Cures has given back over $520,000.00 to the Penn State Cancer Institute.
The For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Facility at Woodloch continues to move forward through the fundraising & planning phases with a goal of breaking ground in 2024. The project will create the first of its kind facility designed to provide a getaway for late stage cancer patients and their families.
AllOne Charities was honored to partner this year as the fiscal agent for this wonderful and successful event.
