The CEO Weinberg Regional Food Bank partners with Hunters Sharing the Harvest (HSH) to accept donations of locally harvested venison, providing a valuable source of protein to families in need.
A $10,000 donation from AllOne Charities and Coterra Energy supported the HSH initiative at the CEO Weinberg Food Bank. The program enables local hunters to donate their deer through an HSH-approved processor or butcher. These processors, inspected and approved by the PA Department of Agriculture, agree to process the venison at no cost to the hunter. They can then request reimbursement from HSH for their services.
Once processed, the donated venison is distributed through the CEO Weinberg Food Bank and its network of partner pantries, ensuring that families in need receive access to this lean, high-protein food source.
