AllOne Foundation & Charities Receives Governor’s Excellence Award
Atty. John P. Moses, AllOne Foundation & Charities Chairman of the Board accepted the Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence in the Building Community Partnerships category on May 19, 2021. AllOne Foundation & Charities created a public-private partnership, known as the NEPA Nursing Home SOS program which quickly became a national model of efficiency in delivering personal protection equipment (PPE) to nursing homes across the region. AllOne Foundation & Charities partnered with Senator John Yudichak to raise over $1,000,000 to supply nursing homes in NEPA with the PPE they needed to ensure safety during the pandemic. The NEPA Nursing Home SOS Program supplied just over 2 million total items of PPE. AllOne Foundation & Charities administered the program with delivery of PPE items being carried out by One Point, Inc.
The NEPA Nursing Home SOS Program had a considerable legislative impact partnering with the Pennsylvania Health Care Association and LeadingAge PA to serve as an important advocacy voice that helped lead to the passage of Act 2A of 2020, that put nearly $300 million in critical funding into the hands of long-term care facilities in Pennsylvania.
The Earth Conservancy, under the leadership of Board Chair John McCarthy, lead the partnership with support of $250,000 and was joined by Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties. The Luzerne Foundation and the Carbon County Community Foundation contributed $5,000 each.
