AllOne Charities is helping American Rescue Workers (ARW) to launch a new mobile food pantry designed to bring nutritious food directly to underserved communities throughout Lycoming County. For more than 90 years, ARW has provided food, shelter, and critical support to neighbors facing hardship. This new initiative will help address a growing challenge faced by many residents: the inability to access healthy food due to transportation barriers, limited mobility, and geographic isolation. By retrofitting a donated emergency response vehicle into a pantry on wheels, ARW will deliver fresh and shelf-stable food directly to families in need.
The need for expanded food access continues to grow across Lycoming County. ARW’s food pantry currently serves more than 1,000 families each month, a significant increase from pre-pandemic levels. The mobile food pantry will extend ARW’s reach into high-need neighborhoods and rural areas where reliable transportation and grocery options are limited, helping ensure that no one goes hungry simply because they cannot get to a food pantry.
In addition to food distribution, the mobile food pantry will connect individuals and families with nutrition education, essential household supplies, and referrals to other community resources. Through this investment, AllOne Charities is helping American Rescue Workers expand access to healthy food, reduce barriers to care, and strengthen the health and well-being of some of Lycoming County’s most vulnerable residents.
