AllOne Foundation granted CEO Weinberg Food Bank $927,500. Initially, the grant was to afford an opportunity to increase capacity to serve the county’s low-income residents, significantly lowering the meal gap, and improving health by providing nutritious food and the knowledge to make better food choices. The grant was awarded just prior to the pandemic shutting down NEPA and there were no doubts that there would be an increased and overwhelming demand to provide food to those in need. AllOne Foundation expedited the funding in advance so that CEO Weinberg could leverage the purchase of food and be prepared to feed the need that increased to record highs. Nearly 25,000,000 lbs of food was distributed in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Susquehanna and Wayne Counties.
