On Sunday, November 5th students from the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM) hosted their 14th annual Turkey Trot 5K/10K run in downtown Scranton. AllOne Charities is proud to be the fiscal partner of this event, which features 5K and 10K runs, as well as a Tiny Trot run for children.
Over 120 runners came out on a beautiful Fall morning to participate in this year’s event! Proceeds from the Turkey Trot benefit Friends of the Poor, a nonprofit whose mission is to ease the burden of living in poverty and enhance the quality of life for all. Friends of the Poor hosts a yearly Thanksgiving dinner that serves several hundred people and proceeds from the run benefit this event and the organization’s other work throughout the holiday season.
