AllOne Charities Awards Grant to Hall of Fame
The Luzerne County Sports Hall of Fame was awarded a grant from AllOne Charities on behalf of the Wyoming Valley Challenger Baseball program. The award was in the amount of $5012.00 and will be used for the Safety and Cooling Project at Evercor Field in Miners Mills. This Little League sponsored adaptive program is for individuals with physical or mental challenges. The project will provide a medically safe environment for players and spectators during the scheduled season. Outdoor misting and cooling stations will be created for individuals who are predisposed to heat intolerance. Medical supplies such as an AED Defibrillator, and emergency supportive materials will be purchased to create an injury ready environment.
“This generous donation by AllOne Charities will go far in enhancing the well-being and healthy development of these children. What we have established is a safe experience for the participants and spectators, allowing for a measurably enriching collaboration,” stated chapter President Jim Martin.
