The Life Blood of Our Community is a collaboration of five local nonprofit organizations. Included in the group is the American Cancer Society, North Branch Land Trust, CASA of Luzerne County, Osterhout Free Library, and the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association.
The Life Blood of Our Community hosted a three day blood drive/ event on December 3 ,4, and 5, 2020 at MKBC’s donor center, located at 400 Route 315 Suite E, Pittston Township. Each organization recruited donors to donate blood during this time.  Due to the pandemic, blood donations were seriously down and the need is always great.

Funds awarded were awarded to the five nonprofits, to be utilized for programmatic and operating expenses to support the population that each services.  The Luzerne Foundation spearheaded the fundraising and AllOne Charities matched the funds.  $5,000 was distributed to each of the five participating organizations.
