The Lycoming County Cribs for Kids program was able to provide 20 low income, teen mothers with safe sleep education as well as a safe sleep environment for their newborns that they otherwise would not have been able to afford. Each mother was provided with a cribette and sheets, digital thermometer, safety 1st kit, pacifier, and a safe sleep brochure. In order to make sure these mothers were continuing to practice safe sleep after their babies went home, we called them with compliance questions. The greatest measurable success is that there were no infant deaths due to unsafe sleeping in 2018 or 2019 so far in Lycoming County.
