AllOne Charities is proud to support The Greater Scranton YMCA’s Year-Round Food Program, which ensures children receive the nutrition they need to learn, grow and succeed. By providing healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks year-round, this program plays a vital role in combating food insecurity and supporting the well-being of local children.
Last year, 69,490 meals and snacks were provided to children enrolled in Early Childhood Education programs, Summer Day Camp and Before and After School care. Since the Year-round Food Program was implemented, enrollment in the early childhood education program at the Y has grown significantly. This growth has proved challenging, as the need for additional staff and more efficient equipment has also increased.
AllOne Charities awarded a $20,000 grant to the Greater Scranton YMCA to support the Year-Round Food Program. Specifically, the funding is strengthening program operations, improving food storage, and supporting essential staff. With these resources, the YMCA is meeting the increased need, ensuring that children in their care receive the fuel they need to thrive.
