The United Way of Greater Hazleton and Pathway to Recovery have been awarded a $50,000 grant to launch an Opioid Awareness program for students in the Hazleton Area School District. In addition the grant will allow persons in recovery to receive Medication Assisted Treatment, which has proven successful in treating individuals with opioid dependence. The program would include approximately 490 hours of prevention education using the program Project Towards No Drug Abuse and would target approximately 1600 students.
