AllOne Charities presented a check to the Wyoming County Cultural Center at the Dietrich Theater (WCCC) for two of their unique programs: Chair Yoga and Special Needs Dance Class.
The Chair Yoga class is for individuals who can reap the benefits of yoga without getting down on the floor. The need for free or low cost health and wellness programs was evidenced by the more than 50 people who take advantage of Chair Yoga weekly, a free program that will continue into 2019 thanks in-part to the funds granted by AllOne Charities. With the aid of a chair, practitioners can strengthen their bodies, increase mobility in their joints, improve flexibility and experience a sense of well-being. Coming to a class has proven to be an antidote to senior isolation. While doing something for the health of the body, another benefit is to socialize with others who are doing the same thing.
The Special Needs Dance Class has many of the same benefits which is being funded from September, 2018, through August, 2019. Becoming active, learning new movements and socializing while exercising is a perfect mixture for increasing mobility, improving flexibility and experiencing a sense of well-being.
