On October 3rd, staff members of AllOne Foundation & Charities attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Wyoming County Healthcare Center, marking a significant milestone in addressing the healthcare needs of rural Wyoming County. Through a collaborative effort with local business leaders, and leveraging Pennsylvania’s Neighborhood Assistance Program, AllOne Foundation & Charities contributed over $1.1 million to the Center.

The need for a new healthcare facility became urgent after Tyler Memorial Hospital closed its inpatient and surgical care unit in 2021, followed by the closure of its emergency services in 2022. This left residents of Wyoming County with a gap in access to nearby medical care. The local community came together to address this critical issue, with the Ruark family playing a key role. The Ruarks purchased the building and began renovating it in 2023, with the goal of transforming it into a non-profit medical facility. Their efforts drew strong support from local leaders, private businesses, foundations, and community members.

Today, the Wyoming County Healthcare Center is officially open, providing essential healthcare services to the community. Primary care, ambulance services, and other medical needs are now met by a variety of providers, including Guthrie Clinic, the Wright Center, DaVita Kidney Care, Work Well Occupational Services, Susquehanna-Wyoming County Transportation (SWCT), and the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation.

AllOne Foundation & Charities is proud to have played a significant role in this community effort to ensure that the residents of Wyoming County have access to critical healthcare services.
